October is Campus Sustainability Month! During this month, we celebrate our sustainable campus through educational events, engaging programs, and more. UCI has consistently been in the top 10 sustainable higher education institutions, including being a #1 Cool School by the Sierra Club Magazine.

Unity Through Service: "Isang Bagsak, La Lucha Sigue" - Fall 2024

In honor of Latinx Heritage Month and Filpinx American History Month, join the Latinx Resource Center and the Office of Campus Organizations & Volunteer Programs in collaboration with the Cross-Cultural Center, Sustainability Resource Center, MEChA, Kababayan, PASS for - Unity through Service: "One down, the struggle continues," a service-learning project where we will have a meaningful conversation about the farm worker's movement after gleaning * at the Giving Farm in Westminster, CA. We will be encapsulating the history of both Latine(x) and Pilipino farm worker movements of California. This a lucha (fight) that will preserve the historical legacy and stories of many leaders important to the movement such as Dolores Huerta, Larry Itliong, Philip Vera Cruz, Cesar Chavez, Gilbert Padilla, and many more. This is nuestra hogar (our home) of living in the state of California, in which we all rise to challenge the ongoing fight to preserve the stories of those before us!

Little Ants Nature School Fall 2024– Recycling

Hello friends! Little Ants Nature School (LANS) is a program of UCI Housing. We invite UCI affiliated families to participate in an "Art and Story Time" in-person with us. Children of all ages, and parents/guardians, are welcome to join! Please register below.

Program Objectives: Provide safe, active, and engaging experiences for children and their caregivers to forward education broadly related to the environment and sustainability.

Learning Outcomes: Sow the seeds of environmental stewardship, wellness, and care for community.

Program Description: Lessons generally include activities such as scavenger hunts, games, story time, science time, and crafts.

Environmental Justice Collective - Interest Meeting

The Environmental Justice Collective (EJC) is a student-led group that works to reflect on and respond to the intersecting crises of environmental, racial, and social justice, and gain familiarity with the knowledge and skills to support our commitment to communities and social justice. The EJC is supported through the UCI Sustainability Resource Center.

If you're interested in learning and advocating about environmental justice issues, join the interest meeting to hear about what the year will look like for the EJC.
