About Us
To establish a cultural initiative centered around Giddha, a traditional folk dance form originating from the Punjab region, we aim to create an inclusive platform for our community at UC Irvine. While traditionally performed by women, we welcome all interested participants to join us in celebrating this vibrant and expressive art form. Driven by the absence of a Giddha team at UC Irvine, we seek to fill this gap and provide a space for individuals from diverse backgrounds to come together and experience the joy of Giddha. This initiative is not just about preserving cultural heritage but also about fostering unity, expression, and storytelling through dance and music. Giddha offers a unique opportunity for participants to connect with their cultural roots, express emotions, and build strong bonds of friendship and camaraderie. By opening this initiative to all, we hope to promote diversity, inclusivity, and cross-cultural understanding within our campus community.
