The Muslim Law Students Association and Jewish Law Student Association will organize an interfaith dinner to celebrate Ramadan, a special month for Muslims that focuses on fasting, spiritual reflection, and communal unity. In the spirit of bringing the community together, this interfaith event will bring together UCI Law professors, staff, and students from across faiths (and non-faith) for a meaningful conversation on what faith means to them. The goal of the event is to strengthen interfaith dialogue in our community, deepen our understanding of different faiths and beliefs, give an opportunity for people to open up about how their faith or non-faith impacts them, and create meaningful connections and friendships. Each dinner table will have a mix of invitees (professors, students, and different faiths/backgrounds). We want the invitees to have a thoughtful conversation so the event will be guided by prompts/questions. A participant will ask a question (related to interfaith/spirituality) and answer the question in front of the large group. Every table will then have 20 minutes to discuss the question amongst themselves. This format will facilitate the conversation and will hopefully allow participants to learn about each others faiths/beliefs. RSVP here.
