Join LSJP and ILS for a discussion about South Africa's ICJ case against Israel, featuring speaker UCI Law Professor David Kaye. Professor Kaye is the former UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression and currently serves as the Director of the International Justice Clinic at UCI Law. He has taught courses on international human rights and humanitarian law, and has written about the ongoing international litigation in front of the ICJ and ICC relating to the situation in occupied Palestine. Our discussion will touch on topics such as the status of the case, the arguments South Africa has made and Israel's response, the role of the international judicial bodies involved, and some of the legal principles behind international human rights and humanitarian law.
