About Us
Kaba Modern is a collegiate dance group founded in 1992 by Arnel Calvario. As a proud part of the Filipino-American club, Kababayan, he established the group to perform in various events, such as Philipino Cultural Night and others. As Kaba Modern enters its thirtieth season, we hope to become an official organization on UCI's campus in order to connect with students as well as others in the community. "We are a family of creatives existing to foster a safe and inclusive space for artistic expression, interpersonal connection, & self-discovery. Through collective artistry, dance education, & enriching events, we aim to bridge and positively impact diverse communities, honor the history and heritage of the art forms we practice, & promote intentional movement."
