“First there was Hendrix, then Stevie Ray, and now Habib.” — Bonnie Raitt

Malian guitarist Habib Koité is one of Africa’s most popular and recognized musicians. Named the biggest pop star of the region by Rolling Stone magazine, Habib’s music is deeply rooted in the sounds of Mali, drawing from its diverse musical traditions and instruments.

With a singing style that’s heartfelt and personal, he seamlessly blends various musical genres, including Western rock and folk music, to craft something entirely unique.

His artistry and magnetic personality have made him an international star, delighting audiences the world over, and placing him firmly among the leading figures in contemporary world music.

Habib will be joined on stage by his good friends, Aly Keïta (master of the balafon, a West African xylophone-like instrument), Lamine Cissokho (a virtuoso of the kora, the West African harp-lute), and percussionist extraordinaire, Mama Kone.
