About Us
In September 2011 Food Recovery Network (FRN) was founded as a student group at the University of Maryland. Today, we're the largest student movement fighting against food waste and hunger and have recovered and donated more than 3.9 million pounds of food that otherwise would have gone to waste. That's more than 3.2 million meals that's gone to those in need. It is also more than 6.8 million pounds of carbon dioxide prevented from reaching the atmosphere.
