Hello everyone and welcome to Week 5! 

This is a reminder to RSVP to our upcoming Resume/LinkedIn workshop, happening TOMORROW (Feb 6) at 6:00pm in Engineering Hall 1200 (EH1200)! This event is imperative for those who have not made a LinkedIn profile and want guidance on how to create a solid Resume or LinkedIn! We are partnering up with the Princeton Review team in order to deliver you the best help possible to help make you stand out as an applicant. Please bring your laptop as we will be getting hands-on with our  resumes/LinkedIn. Both of our guests will be available after the event if any further inquiries are needed.

Hybrid Beyond Ring Road: Preparing for the Job Search

Join the Division of Career Pathways on Tuesday, February 7 at 12:00 either in-person at the Newkirk Alumni Center or online for their Preparing for the Job Search workshop! SSARC Peer Consultant Applications Open!

The Social Science Academic Resource Center (SSARC) has officially opened up applications for SSARC Peer Consultants for the 2023-2024 academic year! Peer consultants help guide other undergraduate students through their college journey by offering advice about courses, obtaining academic internships, graduate school applications, finding faculty-mentored research, and more! Through this internship, you'll be able to build management/programming skills, learn about many internship/graduate school/career opportunities, and build more connections within the social sciences department! RA Opportunity in Computational Cognitive Neuroscience  Lab

The Computational Cognitive Neuroscience Lab is currently looking for research assistants! Some information about the lab is as follows:

Our research asks the question: Why do humans make the choices that we do? We are particularly interested in the roles that various kinds of memories – long-term, episodic, and semantic memories – serve in allowing people to plan for the future and make sense of the present, and how the use of memory in decision-making shapes what we remember, and when these memories come to mind. Ongoing projects investigate the use of memory in decisions for reward, perceptual inference, addiction, and intertemporal choice, using computational model-driven analysis of behavior and brain activity. RA Opportunity in LALA Lab

The Language and Learning Analytics Lab (LALA LAB) is recruiting a team of undergraduates to support the analysis of a new dataset.
The project is a partnership between UCI and NeuroMatch, an online learning program for Computational Neuroscience and Deep Learning. Our aim is to understand and model knowledge construction in online discussions. Selected undergraduates will assist with analyzing text through qualitative coding, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Statistical Discourse Analysis (SDA). This is a great opportunity to gain experience with text analysis; work with education faculty and graduate students; explore a new field of study; and earn credit for independent research (ED198). Any and all majors welcome!
