Research Assistants Needed for Sleep-Dependent Spatial Investigations Using Minecraft
Dr. Simon will be running a research study investigating sleep-dependent spatial memory in children, teens, and young adults using Minecraft within the Sleep and Cognition Lab. Research Assistants in the lab may be involved in any aspects of experiments, including recruiting and screening potential subjects, running in-lab and remote human subjects in experimental procedures (informed consent, psychophysics, polysomnography), data coding and analysis, and helping with other needed tasks.
Primary tasks will be remote Minecraft study administration/data in children and college-aged students. The minimum time commitment is 12 hours/week for at least 1 year. We run studies in the evening/morning and on weekends due to youths' schedules. We are also in a sleep lab and RAs share responsibilities for overnights. You must be willing to work at least one overnight per week in the lab (not consistently, but available).
As a Research Assistant in our lab, you can register for 2-4 credits per quarter, P/NP. After working in the lab for 1 quarter, research assistants can register for 2-4 credits per quarter for a letter grade. If you are interested, please check out our website: http://sleepandcognitionlab.org/ where there is an RA application. Please fill this out and email your application and your resume as attachments to Dr. Kate Simon (knsimon@uci.edu). We will contact you in the near future if we think you are a good candidate for our lab.
CSA Committees
Looking for ways to get more involved in the CSA? Our committee applications are still open! The CSA has different committees, each with different responsibilities that allow the CSA to connect and grow. For more information on each individual committee OR to apply to a committee, check out our CSA committee forms under "Surveys & Forms" in campusgroups (also linked below). |
