10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
You're invited to a powerful conversation with Dr. Claire Kim as she unpacks the themes of systemic oppression, racial hierarchy, and the possibilities for cross-racial solidarity. Drawing from her latest book, Asian Americans in an Anti-Black World, this Q&A will explore the complex dynamics between Asian American and Black communities in the U.S., and what it means to build genuine solidarity in the face of anti-Blackness.
2:15 PM – 3:30 PM
We are holding space to celebrate impactful Women of Color who in spite of stereotypical narratives were able to have success stories. Attendees will learn how to practice Radical Healing by uplifting WOC voices and challenging who really gets to define success, intelligence, beauty, and leadership. We are forming resistance against systems that weren’t built with WOC in mind.
6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Join us for a powerful evening where movement becomes a medium for justice with Cambodian Awareness Organization and Ballet Folklorico. These organizations will come together to share, teach, and celebrate traditional dances from around the world. Each group will lead a workshop on a dance rooted in cultural heritage, followed by an open discussion on how these art forms resist systemic oppression, preserve identity, and build bridges across communities.
Through rhythm, storytelling, and collective movement, we’ll explore how dance has been—and continues to be—a tool for cultural survival, social change, and deep-rooted solidarity. Come ready to move, learn, and connect
11:00 AM – 12:15 PM
Join us for a gathering created to center students of Color, celebrate BIPOC joy as a form of resistance, and explore the power of intersectional, identity-affirming spaces. Together, we’ll reflect on the difference between toxic positivity and authentic, strength-based outlooks, and discuss how we care for ourselves and each other through both collective and individual practices.
This is more than a conversation—it’s a space to feel seen, to heal, and to honor what keeps us rooted
1:30 PM – 2:30 PM
Starting to explore your role in climate justice? This space is for you! The shift to a sustainable future is happening—let’s ensure it’s rooted in justice.
Join us for a student-led program exploring how we can fight climate change with justice at the center. We’ll explore environmental and energy justice, the impact of carbon emissions on frontline communities, what UCI is doing to reduce emissions, and how YOU can get involved in creating a more equitable, fossil-free future.
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Join the Cross-Cultural Center for our weekly meditation. Facilitated by UCI Faculty, Larisa Castillo (Humanities), this week’s focus is around our Deconstruction Zone theme: Resisting Systemic Oppression and Strengthening Solidarity. Snacks, tea, and other wellness activities will be provided!
