Mission
Our mission at Pro-Health Journal Club is to create a new community that serves as a platform for engaging students in different fields of STEM/Social Sciences through their mutual interest in healthcare. This will be accomplished through guiding students in their efforts to comprehend and discuss scientific journals through academic discourse, collaboration and presentations. Students will develop scientific literacy and communication skills necessary to succeed in professional/graduate schools. Strong knowledge in advanced health-related topics will be learnt and help prepare students for upper division courses and potential research labs. All UCI students who are majoring in or are simply interested in learning about at least one of the 8 different areas of healthcare are encouraged to join this community. Pro-Health Journal Club (PHC) will demonstrate the Interconnectedness of the different healthcare fields and guide its students to become informed and educated members of society who seek evidence-based knowledge.
