Paul McCarthy (b. 1945, raised Salt Lake City), lives and works in Los Angeles. For 18 years, McCarthy taught performance, video, installation, and art history in the New Genres Department at UCLA, where he influenced future generations of west coast artists. McCarthy has exhibited performance, installation, sculpture, video and film extensively worldwide. McCarthy's work comprises collaborations with artist-friends such as Mike Kelley, Jason Rhoades, Leigh Ledare, as well as his son videomaker Damon McCarthy.

Leigh Ledare (b. 1976, Seattle), lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Leigh Ledare uses photography, archival material, text and film to explore human agency and social structures, social and psychological relationships, taboos and the unconscious. Ledare's work has been shown widely in the United States and Europe, and is included in the permanent collections of The Museum of Modern Art, New York, The Museum of the Art Institute of Chicago, and The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, among others.
