UCI Drama Emergent Series presents Twelve Angry Jurors adapted by Sherman L Sergal based on the Emmy Award Winning Television Movie by Reginald Rose, is a tension driven drama that unfolds entirely within a confined jury room, where twelve jurors deliberate the fate of a young man accused of murder. As tensions rise and prejudices surface, the play explores themes of justice, prejudice, and the power of individual conviction amidst a backdrop of societal pressure and the presumption of innocence. This production unites UCI students hailing from both the Claire Trevor School of the Arts and the Department of Criminology, Law, and Society through a profound theatrical and thought provoking experience. Following each performance, the cast and company along with affiliates from the UCI Mock Trial Club and other social justice experts will facilitate enlightening talkback sessions on addressing bias, fostering inclusivity, and fortifying our cohesive UCI community.
