The time has come again for the Harambee Gathering: Welcome Back Celebration, formerly known as Fall Harvest, on Friday, September 29th from 4-7pm, at the Lower Gateway Plaza (below Gateway Commons and Langston Library, along the outer ring of Aldrich Park).

For those who do not know, the Harambee Gathering is the Center for Black Cultures, Resources & Research welcome back event to welcome newly admitted freshmen, transfer students, graduate students, and returning students who identify with the African Diaspora to campus with the Black Faculty and Staff Association of UC Irvine and the UCI Black Alumni Chapter. The word Harambee means "all pull together" in Swahili and is a Kenyan tradition of community self-help events. This event is filled with music, icebreakers, performances, food, and other fun activities.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Niobe Duke at nduke@uci.edu.
