About Us
Anteaters for Health Equity is a group of UCI students passionate about the many areas within health equity/healthcare. Our core mission is to keep our members informed of a myriad of contemporary issues under the umbrella of health equity. This includes social determinants of health, varying health outcomes for different ethnic groups in Orange County and beyond, and proper racial/ethnic representation in clinical trials, among other topics. Our second core mission is to expose our members to health advocacy. We aim to collaborate with local organizations (i.e Equity in OC and the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center) to advocate for health equity. This will come in the form of boothing around campus, attending meetings/advocacy groups, giving presentations in public health courses, and hosting informative sessions for the general student body and faculty. We also aim to provide a welcoming environment and to host social events for our members.
